Dragon Delight

Hi, this latest painting is from my imagination, which is a tough thing to do when you are used to having references. It was an exercise. I must say I started off dreading doing this and had a bit of a think. Then I did a little sketch to see if it might work out on paper.

I chose a dragon to paint, as I love them. I am an avid sci fi fantasy reader. I enjoy all the stories with dragons and magic and a hero. I thought the dragon looked ferocious and so I drew some scared little fairies that the dragon had perchanced across. I stood there thinking what does scared look like and I thought big startled eyes and a wide open mouth, perhaps racing off screaming.

love the colours in the dragon kay. The blue/green of his head is lovely. And yep, your fairies look scared.

Wow, here is a side of your art I had not seen before. I love illustration and anything from the imagination. They do look scared. Hope you do more of these.

I like it! I like the middle fairy the best - she is outta there man!
It was nice to meet you today! I think I scared you I thought you were going to run away from me at any moment. Your draft horses were beautiful I glimpsed them briefly before you stashed it into that cool bag (I need to get one of them!) and it was very big! I have to have a go at a big painting, I think my head would explode though.

Hey Jade, not scared at all. It was great to meet you. I didn't want you to feel cornered as I feel we pounced a bit when we realised who you were.
Thanks Wendi, I like the dragon's head best.
Thanks Holly, it was fun but I am not quite sure that it is for me. I will have to ponder.
