The red bucket WIP

It was a beautiful day today, but a little hot 33 degrees celcius. The gorgeous weather inspired the beginnings of this beach scene. An intimate moment between brother and big sister playing with a bucket on the beach.

Some more work is required to finish, but at least you can see that I have been painting. This is the first piece I have started since working full time. Everyone in my family had gone out for the day which left me with some quiet time. I put some blues music on the stereo and listenend to the sounds of the brass and the beat of the music.

What a great scene. I clicked on the picture and enlarged it, and it looks great! It is so hard to combine work and art. It has been the frustrating story of my life!(although I have been working less and less lately). I listen to the blues while I paint as well. When you feel like slowing down, the beat gives you that get up and go!

P.S. I absolutely loved the previous sketch as well. It is so wispy and subtle and the pose really draws you in.

Thankyou Amanda and Catherine.

Kay, Excellent work. Very impressionistic - you can see the wind, the atmosphere, and the interplay between all the parts. I don't know that there's that much more to do!

Nice to see the progression of this piece. Everyone has their own way of working, interesting to see the differences. I work better to either talk radio or a TV. I have a small TV set up so I won't focus on it. Once in a great while I listen to music.
