Lion Love

Here is an ink drawing that I have just completed. The reference is from Sam Mowska's photos from whilst he was in Africa. The reference was used with permission.

Hi Kay
This is a great drawing. When you enlarge it, you can see the pen strokes you used to achieve this result. Wow!
Thanks for your comments on my painting. I sort of answered your questions on my blog but thought I would elaborate a bit. I think the reason I am so driven to paint is because I spent so many years not being able to paint how I wanted and now that I have my own studio space, I can be more organized and get pictures started ahead of time so that they are ready. Also, I want to keep learning. I set a goal for myself a while back to learn how to paint in a certain style, and I think I will forget what I learned if I don't keep at it. (Plus, I am not working full time...big advantage)Sometimes I don't know why I feel so "driven", its almost like I feel there won't be enough time to reach my goals. We artists are so weird, aren't we!

This is lovely Kay - I am always drawn to pen and ink drawings. This has some very subtle shading which takes a good eye to accomplish.
