I asked my husband last night whether he liked this picture and he said that our daughter was beautiful and would look better with the sunglasses off. So I have taken her sunglasses off and I am working on her face. I hope you like the new improved version.

ah I do like it with the glasses off. She is very beautiful, I like the soft highlights and shadows of her face, I am always impressed when people get such 3Dness. One question though, how did you remove the pastel? I did one the other week, but wasn't happy with the colour I used but dunno how to get it off. It was chalk? pastel (pencil)
Just rubbed the pastel oof with a rag. It is very powdery and comes off quite easily, especially if you havent't laid it down to hard.
I liked it better with glasses I think. I need time to look at it. but, I liked the fact that it was a child dressing up in the mirror. ( And yes, youre daughter is beautiful) And jade, try using a kneadable rubber ( eraser to the anal people) and just lift the pastel off. Pastel is so forgiving !!
Kay - Your vacation sounded so inviting that I had to google Cairns to see what the area looked like. Well done piece, like how the flowers soften the left side. You handled her face with sensitivity.
Thanks Wendi and thanks Holly. Yes to have the glasses or not to have the glasses. Do you know what? Now thqat I have finished this iece, even though I enjoyed doing it, I have fallen out of love with it. I have to get it framed unfortunatley as I had entered it in a competition. I have been messing wound with it so much that I only took it to the framers today, which is Thursday and I need it framed by Monday. Well it is now in the hands of fate.
Oh yes Holly, Cairns is fabulous. I loved it. If I didn't have to rip kids out of school etc. I would move there tomorrow.
