String Quartette

This painting was inspired by a photo that I took at a friend's wedding. They had this lovely string quartette playing as they were married on a little jetty over looking a lake. The day was extremely hot. These musicians must have suffered from the heat.

I love the way youre putting your pastels down these days Kay. The colours are just lovely.
This is such a great subject. ( The violins, not the wedding. LOL)

I absolutely love this one. The subject is great, the composition really works. I like the subtle light reflections on the sheet music. Nice job!

I have never worked in pastels Kay, i imagine it would be very difficult.. all those colours layered one on top of another, working together to create a picture.
I must echo those comments made by Holley.

Hey Jade, where have you been. Yes I did struggle a bit on composition as initally I had speckled light patches on the ground but decided that they were detracting from the picture where the focus should be at the heads. Kay
